'Wentworth' season 5 spoilers, plot news: Franky not returning? Nicole Da Silva coy about comeback
Bea Smith's (Danielle Cormack) death will be avenged in "Wentworth" season 5, but it appears that Franky (Nicole Da Silva) will not be part of it.
Franky's involvement in the fourth season was not as big as it was in the previous seasons, which had many believing that the character's screen time will be less this season if nothing at all.
When asked by Diva Magazine if she will reprise her role as Franky in "Wentworth" season 5, Da Silva played coy and dodged the question.
"Ah, spoiler! I would get a stern call if I were to confirm or deny that. But I appreciate your tenacity in asking," the actress told the publication.
However, Diva pointed out that Da Silva actually flew to Melbourne where "Wentworth" season 5 is currently being filmed, which they believe could be a sign that she is returning.
Da Silva, however, is also busy with her other series "Doctor Doctor." Her role there is a major one so she is expected to spend a lot of time there.
It will be remiss not to have her back especially with Bea's death. She and Cormack's character have become allies as the show progressed although they were hostile towards each other when they first met.
They became closer to each other as the show went on, which should give Franky enough reason to get involved with Allie's (Kate Jenkinson) plan to avenge her beloved's death in "Wentworth" season 5.
In the shocking season 4 finale, Bea was killed by Ferguson (Pamela Rabe) in her final attempt to stop her plans. She accepted death graciously knowing that she will join Allie soon. However, the love of her life woke up and survived just as she drew her last breath.
"What I think is that if you care about Bea Smith, then you're going to care about what happens after her death—how the prison changes, how it changes the dynamics within the prison walls," Jenkinson told AfterEllen of "Wentworth" season 5.
"Wentworth" returns next year on Foxtel.
