'Wentworth' season 5 update: Show airing final season because of Bea Smith's death?
Fans of the Australian drama television series "Wentworth" are holding on to the edge of their seats as they wait for more updates on their favorite show. Unfortunately, the latest one isn't something to look forward to.
According to reports, "Wentworth" season 5 could be the last installment of the series and speculations say that it may have something to do with the death of fan favorite character, Bea Smith (Danielle Cormack). A lot of fans were dismayed when the show decided to kill off Bea. But nothing is truly confirmed yet and there's a possibility that she could still be alive.
Anything can happen in a drama series so it's conceivable that Bea survived the attack. She was stabbed to death by Joan "The Freak" Ferguson (Pamela Rabe). However, if the show isn't going for a dramatic twist to the story arc, then fans will have to accept the tragic fate of Bea. Her death is certain to bring some uproar among the inmates at Wentworth Prison.
Rumor has it that Allie Novak (Kate Jenkinson), Bea's lover, will be furious with Bea's death and she will be seeking revenge. She will team up with Bea's friends to bring down the whole prison and avenge for Bea. Several speculate that season 5 will end with a big riot to pay tribute to Bea's death.
At this point, nothing is really certain yet so fans will have to watch out for updates regarding season 5. There are no official announcements that fifth installment will be the last and Jenkinson confirmed season 5 herself during an interview with After Ellen.
The 35-year-old actress revealed that they have already started shooting for season 5. Even though they were instructed not to talk about it, she said that she had a feeling people already knew that it was happening.
"Wentworth" season 5 has no official release date yet.
