"Wonder Woman" director Patty Jenkins fired back after someone claiming to be formerly employed by Warner Bros. called the film "a mess" in an anonymous open letter.

On Friday, Aug. 12, news broke about an alleged Warner Bros. ex-employee who had published an irate open letter expressing her disappointment with the studio and its CEO, Kevin Tsujihara.

In the letter, which was published on Pajiba, the unverified employee said that the studio had made a series of bad decisions that led to 2014 layoffs. The author also said that the studio had made a hash of its DC Films line-up and blamed "Batman v Superman" director Zack Snyder for the mixed and negative reviews that film received. The letter-writer also said that Snyder's work has led to people losing their jobs. Finally, the author said that insiders have confirmed that "Wonder Woman" is another mess hiding behind a great trailer.

On the same day, Jenkins responded to the anonymous letter through a series of tweets in which she demanded a credible source for the author's claims and criticized the media coverage of the letter.

"Woah, just saw this press about WW having problems. Are they serious?" she wrote. "Produce a source, anyone," she added.

She followed this up with: "You can't because it's entirely false. Don't believe the hype people. Someone's trying to spread some serious misinfo."

"Isn't until you are intimately involved in these things that you realize how totally false these rumors can," she later wrote. "Let me reassure you..."

"Zero about the movie we are making has been called a mess by anyone in the know. Fact," she explained.

"Real lasso of truth, time, will reveal that letter to be false soon enough. But lame something so transparent in its agenda gets traction," the director concluded.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that the open letter comes on the heels of the release of "Suicide Squad" (2016), which has received numerous negative reviews from film critics. The outlet also points out that the pressure is on "Wonder Woman" to perform well following the mixed response to "Suicide Squad," "Batman v Superman" (2016) and "Man of Steel" (2013).

"Wonder Woman" hits theaters on June 2, 2017.
