'WWE 2K17' roster, release date news: Shawn Michaels, Trish Stratus, and 34 more added
More superstars joining the "WWE 2K17" roster have been revealed in the third of a series of five announcements for the upcoming 2K Sports wrestling simulation game.
This new batch of 36 characters includes former talents, legends, and current superstars. As far as the list goes, the roster will be a real treat to old and new fans of the company.
The list includes big stars like Shawn Michaels, The Bushwhackers (Bushwhacker Butch and Bushwhacker Luke) and even Sting, who joins the party along with Trish Stratus as well as D-Von and Bubba Ray Dudley.
More on the WWE classics, the "WWE 2K17" roster will also be graced by greats like Alundra Blayze, Macho Man Randy Savage, Bam Bam Bigelow, Mr. Perfect and Rick Rude.
Other iconic WWE personalities coming to "WWE 2K17" include Arn Anderson, Tatsumi Fujinami mixed with current superstars A.J. Styles, Dolph Ziggler, Neville and two-thirds of The New Day – Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.
Current WWE Women's Division stars Eva Marie, Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch, Dana Brooke, Emma, Naomi, Natalya and Summer Rae are also being added to the game.
Notable stars like Christian, Rikishi, Stardust and Tamina also have their place on the "WWE 2K17" lineup as well as Curtis Axel, Fandango, Bo Dallas and Tyler Breeze.
IGN also detailed the biggest and most exciting gameplay changes in "WWE 2K17." For starters, players can now once again enjoy the rush of the tussle backstage and among the crowd.
Taunting is also more impactful on the game since doing so in certain instances grants players a temporary damage boost.
Meanwhile, the ladder matches in "WWE 2K17" will be less fussy than before as 2K limited the locations the ladder can be positioned. The Roll-Out system gets the same overhaul.
In "WWE 2K17," when a player receives big damage, they will be forced to roll out to the ring side where they will rest for a while.
In the game, Chain Wrestling will no longer take place automatically when a match begins. It will now depend on the personality or style of a character and if the fighters grapple each other at the same time.
Major Reversals are also coming back in "WWE 2K17," but apart from the offensive boost, the feature now gives players the chance to prevent their opponents from doing reversals.
"WWE 2K17" will be released on Oct. 11.
