After spending more than 10 years with the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), Joey Styles has been fired from the company.

Pro Wrestling Sheet revealed the news on their site, and though there is still no real statement regarding Styles' release, there have been many rumors on the matter.

A controversial interview where Styles spoke honestly about different WWE matters was reportedly the cause of his termination as he revealed pieces of information that were otherwise secret from the fans.

In a question and answer portion with Cathy Kelley, Styles touched on different subjects and gave opinions on each of the topics.

The interview garnered so much heat that it was eventually deleted in Facebook, and Styles' departure can be seen as another repercussion of that event.

Styles also gave his opinion on why WWE Chairman Vince McMahon keeps on pushing Roman Reigns. Styles was quoted as saying, "Bottom line is, if our chairman thinks he sees a future star as a babyface, that's how things are gonna play out."

He went on to say: "But the answer is Vince thinks it can work. He's been right much, much, much, much, much more than wrong over the course of the last 40 years. I'm sorry, but I'm not gonna second-guess the chairman."

Finally, Styles also called the WWE Championships as "belts," something that the company avoids completely.

The WWE always refer to these as titles or championships, and the fact that Styles referred to them as belts appeared to draw the ire of the WWE brass.

Fans should expect more details about Styles' termination in the coming days as well as statements from both parties involved.

Styles has been with the WWE since 2005, and he worked as the Vice President of Digital Media since 2008. He was also the voice behind Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) until the company shut down due to bankruptcy in 2001.
