Xbox Games With Gold February 2017 free games update: Four exciting titles offer adventures in space and on land

Xbox Live Gold subscribers are in for a treat as four more titles join the lineup of free games this February.

The list of titles is already out, and two of the games are already available to download free of charge via an active Xbox Live Gold subscription.

"Lovers in a Dangerous Space Time" has already kicked the love month off on Feb. 1, and it will be available for download until the end of the month. This frantic co-op shooter game brings the player through a space adventure across galaxies with as many as to three friends. Each player will only be able to control one avatar, and the player must constantly move around from station to station in order to balance out the ship, protect it from damage, and launch counterattacks on their enemies. In single-player mode, the player is able to command an AI pet to help out. The game is made up of four campaigns, each with four levels leading up to a boss battle.

The 16th ushers in "Project CARS Digital edition," a motorsport racing simulator video game that features dynamic weather and realistic handling capabilities. The game offers 74 drivable cars, over 30 different locations, and a total of at least 110 different tracks. Twenty-three of these tracks are said to be based on real racing tracks, while the rest are fictional. This title will be available until March 15.

Another title that became available on the first day of February was "Monkey Island 2: Special Edition." This game is playable on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One via backward compatibility. This adventure game features the protagonist Guybrush as he fends off the vengeful attacks of his now undead arch nemesis, LeChuck. The game will only be available for free download until Feb. 15.

Lastly, "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed" joins the growing roster of free Xbox Games with Gold on Feb. 16. This action-adventure video game gives the player an opportunity to become Darth Vader's secret apprentice with the power to wield The Force along with a light saber. This title will be free to download until the end of the month.

Meanwhile, another title, "Killer Instinct: Season 2 Ultra Edition," which became available on the 16th of last month, will still be available for free download until the 15th of this month. And as part of the Games with Gold promotion on Xbox, the game also comes with the most advanced multiplayer, bonus games, and exclusive member discounts in Xbox stores.
