Xbox Games with Gold July 2016 free games news update: 'The Banner Saga 2,' 'Tumblestone' among free downloadable games
Xbox Live Gold members are getting "The Banner Saga 2, "Tumblestone," "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2," and "TRON: Evolution" for free in July.
The Games with Gold program allows those with Gold-level Xbox Live memberships to receive four free Xbox games every month.
On Tuesday, June 28, Microsoft announced its four new free titles for the month of July — two for Xbox One and two for Xbox 360 — as part of its Games with Gold program. Xbox Live Gold members can play the two free Xbox 360 titles on the list on their Xbox Ones with Backward Compatibility.
For Xbox One, Gold members get "The Banner Saga 2" and "Tumblestone," each retailing at $19.99.
"The Banner Saga 2," the sequel to the 2014 Viking-themed tactical role-playing video game "The Banner Saga," can be downloaded for free from July 1 to 31.
"Tumblestone," a new action-puzzle game from The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild, will be available for free from July 16 to August 15.
For Xbox 360, Gold members get "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2," which retails at $19.99, and "TRON: Evolution," which is priced at $14.99.
"Rainbow Six Vegas 2," the seventh installment in the first-person shooter video game series, will be available from July 1 to 15. The first-person shooter video game is the sequel to "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas" and was released back in March 2008.
"TRON: Evolution," the tie-in video game for the film "Tron: Legacy," can be downloaded for free from July 16 to 31. The third-person action/adventure video game was released in December 2010.
According to Express U.K., the list of free Games with Gold titles was leaked earlier this week before it was confirmed on Tuesday by Xbox's Larry Hryb on Twitter.
