Xbox Games with Gold January 2017: here is the complete list of free games for the month

The holidays may be over but gaming never stops for Xbox users, which is why here is the list of the titles that are available through the Xbox Games with Gold subscription for the month of January.

New Year does not always mean all things new, as per Xbox veteran member Larry Hryb, also known as Major Nelson, brought in the announcement via his social media sites.

For Xbox One owners, two new games are up for grabs this month. First off is "World of Van Helsing: Deathtrap" ($19.99 ERP), which is mainly a tower-defense game given a role-playing scheme twist. It offers a wide range of terrifying monsters to be defeated that make sure the players can go on playing for hours. There are three modes available to choose from — Player versus Player, Campaign Mode and Cooperative scheme. Gamers can choose their own protagonist to defend the Silent Fort by laying strategic traps and using magical machines. "Deathtrap" is already available and will be so until the 31st. Joining it on the Xbox One roster is "Killer Instinct Season 2 Ultra Edition" ($39.99 ERP), which is dubbed the ultimate franchise content pack. It is equipped with 8 costumes and 16 premium accessory bundles that are rolled out as the game goes along.

Xbox 360 users, on the other hand, are also treated with a double release starting with adventure title "The Cave" ($14.99 ERP). Already available for download, the 2013 game allows players to mix and match groups of three who will enter and hopefully find out the mystery inside the eerie cave. After "The Cave" goes offline on the 15th, its slot will be taken over by "Rayman Origins" ($14.99 ERP), which will be available until the end of the month. The platform-schemed side-scrolling title from Ubisoft Montpellier first came into the spotlight in 2011. But until now, it is heralded as one of the best games from its genre aside from the "Mario" franchise.
