Xbox Live Gold free games news: subscribers can enjoy 'NBA 2K17' for free this weekend
Xbox recently announced that it will offer their Xbox Live Gold members a free treat this weekend as "NBA 2K17" is featured in Xbox Live Gold's Free Play Days.
"NBA 2K17" is part of the simulation game franchise themed after the National Basketball Association in which gamers can get the chance to control playable characters of their favorite basketball superstars.
For this installment, Paul George of Indiana Pacers graced the cover for the regular edition while the recently retired National Basketball Association (NBA) legend, Kobe Bryant of Los Angeles Lakers, took the special edition cover.
Xbox noted in an official statement yesterday, "The NBA 2K franchise continues to stake its claim as the most authentic sports video game with NBA 2K17. As the franchise that 'all sports video games should aspire to be' (GamesRadar), NBA 2K17 takes the game to new heights and continues to blur the lines between video game and reality."
The statement also took note that Xbox Live Gold members will get the best out of the Free Play Days this weekend as the latest patch 1.05 for "NBA 2K17" has just been released. The update includes matching the 2016–2017 design of the Cleveland Cavalier court, the addition of the #42 patch in Golden State Warriors' uniforms meant to honor Nate Thurmond, and a wide array of improvements on other teams' uniforms for authenticity.
Xbox Live Gold members will just have to download the game on the dashboard to start playing. The free offer started on Friday, Nov. 18, at 12 p.m. EST and will be available until Monday, Nov. 21, at 2:59 p.m. EST. During the mentioned period, the game will also be offered with a discounted price of up to 30 to 40 percent off the regular price tag for Live Gold members.
Xbox also reminded players, "All Gamerscore and Achievements earned during this event period are yours to keep, and your save and game data will carry on if you decide to take advantage of the special promotional pricing or buy the game another time down the road."
