Xbox One Backwards Compatibility games list: Microsoft beefs up Backward Compatibility catalog; free games announced for February 2017
The Xbox One Backward Compatibility library has only gotten bigger, with Microsoft adding new game titles to its ever-growing catalog.
As reported by The Christian Post, the first addition to the Xbox One Backward Compatibility lineup is the 2007 video game "Stuntman: Ignition," which is developed by Paradigm Entertainment.
Xbox One users will get to experience the adrenaline rush of driving as a Hollywood stunt driver who is taking a shot at stardom. In this game, gamers are expected to "master the most breathtaking, death-defying vehicle-based stunts ever filmed."
The second game which was added to the Backward Compatibility list is the 2006 single-player racing game, "Mad Tracks," which is developed by Load Inc. In the game, players are offered 15 challenges which they can battle out with friends as they attempt to make it at the top of the game's leaderboards. Gamers can achieve this by completing different tasks, which varies from racing around a track or landing their car on the center of a dartboard.
The third and final addition to Microsft's Backward Compatibility library is "JUJU." The game is about the shaman panda Juju, who works along with his lizard sidekick Peyo. Their mission is to "embark upon a dangerous and mystical journey to save Juju's father and the world from an ancient evil."
Aside from making additions to the Xbox One's Backward Compatibility catalog, Microsoft has also recently unveiled its free games lineup for Xbox Live Gold subscribers for the month of February. Among the games which will be downloadable for free are "Monkey Island 2: Special Edition" and "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed."
"Monkey Island 2: Special Edition" and "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed" are both playable on the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One because of Microsoft's Backward Compatibility technology. "Monkey Island" is available to download for free for Xbox Gold subscribers from Feb. 1 to Feb. 15, while "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed" is free to download Feb. 16 to Feb. 28.
With the Xbox One Backward Compatibility technology, Microsoft is expected to continue with expanding the catalog of games that can be played both on the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One.
