Avid video game players are now weighing their choices as Sony and Microsoft will each release a new console. However, Sony will have an edge in terms of the release date as their PlayStation 4 Pro console is scheduled to be released next week already while Microsoft's Xbox Project Scorpio is expected in 2017.

Fans are now wondering if the Xbox Project Scorpio will be worth the wait. Both companies are working on bringing a whole new level of gaming experience so it's going to be tough competition. But the new Microsoft console is expected to have its own unique specs and features that the PS4 Pro will not have.

Nothing has been officially revealed though since Microsoft has been keeping things under wraps. Nonetheless, reports suggest that the console is also expected to come with a 4K display feature and virtual reality (VR) support just like the Sony contender.

But rumor has it that the console is going to be the best option to play interesting games with, especially since several forthcoming games are going to get the VR support feature beginning next year. PC Advisor also mentioned that Project Scorpio will be a very powerful console as it will be equipped with six teraflops of graphical performance. AMD chips are also expected to be incorporated into the mix.

AMD stated, "We are proud that Microsoft has chosen to expand their Xbox One family of devices with two new consoles featuring AMD's high-performance semi-custom SoCs that support revolutionary new technologies like HDR, 4K and high fidelity VR to enable the next generation of immersive gaming experiences."

Moreover, it's also reported that Microsoft will be most likely partnering with a VR headset manufacturer like HTC for their HTC Vive or Google for their Oculus Rift. Nothing is confirmed though. It's also said that the Project Scorpio will be fully compatible with any of the Xbox One controllers.

As of now, there is no specific release date yet for Microsoft's Project Scorpio but it's revealed to come out sometime in holiday 2017. Until then, fans will have to stay tuned for more updates.
