The upcoming strategy role-playing game (RPG) "XCOM 2" is going to be delayed for a few weeks, although the delay is only expected for the home consoles. The PC version of the video game sequel has been around for some time now, but Firaxis Games has yet to release the console version of "XCOM 2." Originally, the game will be released on consoles on September 6, but according to the latest updates, it is now expected to arrive three weeks later.

As reported by GameSpot, Take-Two recently announced that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of "XCOM 2" will be delayed to make sure that the latest game title is "fully polished at launch and meets the team's high standards." Take-Two president Karl Slatoff made the announcement of the console version's delay, plus he gave the assurance that 2k Games and Firaxis will still support that PC version of the game with DLC packs even after the console release.

As of the meantime, the latest confirmed console release date of "XCOM 2" is September 27 in North America, while the game will be released internationally starting on September 30. The players can expect that the console version includes a lot of improvements and additional contents that were not present when "XCOM 2" was fist released on PC platform. However, the mod support for the console version is not yet confirmed.

Meanwhile, the PC version of "XCOM 2" has featured some additional contents earlier this year. One of the new expansion packs of the video game is called "Alien Hunters," which offers a fresh narrative to the base game. It included new missions for the players to accomplish, although the missions will not be that easy as new alien creatures will be introduced to antagonize the player characters. Specifically, the new kind of the alien race called the "Rulers" must be stopped before they succeed in conquering neighboring areas.

According to a press release as reported by the Polygon website, the Rulers will show up unexpectedly and randomly throughout the player's campaign missions. Each alien creature belonging to the Rulers class is possessing unique sets of skills, tactics, and behaviors. Some of their actions can vary from one another, although all of them are said to be "incredible, intelligent" beings.
