Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will officially be launched on Tuesday, Oct. 25, Xiaomi has announced. The China-based tech firm broke the news in social media.

The announcement came with an image that reads "two-sided dual curves," which suggests that the smartphone will get a major design makeover.

Previous leaks have claimed that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will indeed have curved screens. The display was also revealed to be 5.7-inch Quad high-definition (HD) Super AMOLED, which should be a major improvement from the predecessor's 1080 screen.

Another feature that the rumor mills have tied to the new Xiaomi Mi Note is the dual-camera setup. According to GSM Arena, Xiaomi will build that up as well moving into launch day.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is also expected to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, which means it can offer RAM amounting to 6 GB, which is double than that of the original Mi Note.

Leaks suggest that the device will come with a 4 GB RAM version with 64 GB of storage as well as a 6 GB RAM version with 128 GB storage.

On the camera department of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, users will be looking at a 23-megapixel Sony IMX318 sensor for the rear-facing shooter paired with a 12 MP front-facing camera.

The phablet is expected to be equipped with a beastly 4,100mAh battery, which should last for long hours of usage and support for the new display. The best part is that users should be able to juice it up pretty quickly.

Other exciting features on the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 include a Qualcomm ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and iris-scanning technology in addition to near field communication (NFC) and Mi Pay.

All that goodness is expected to come with a reasonable price tag of $400 at the least. It could go up to $450 depending on the amount of RAM and storage of course.
