Nevertheless, the rumors are rife that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will also be released this year, possible in the later part of October.
As reported by Yibada, there are now more hints that Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will arrive very soon. Earlier, a popular Chinese tech analyst and enthusiast, Pan Jiutang, claimed in his notes that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will be showcased at a special event at the end of this month. No announcement was made regarding the next Xiaomi event, although it is highly speculated that the last week of October will be the time table of Xiaomi Mi Note 2's launching.
Moreover, it is rumored that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will come in two variants. The first will be the regular base model having the Snapdragon 820 chipset. On the other hand, the high-tier Mi Note 2 phablet will receive the better performing Snapdragon 821. This variant will be known as the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Pro.
According to Phone Arena, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will be boasting a very different design compared to its predecessor. For one, the Mi Note 2 is expected to have a new dual-edged curved screen display. Its screen feature is more specialized now that it is also expected to have pressure-sensitive screens. Both variants will have 5.5-inch screen display with Quad HD resolution.
With regards to the battery capacity of the upcoming Mi Note 2, it is said to boast a bigger 3,600 mAh compared to the first model. The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Pro is reported to have 4,000 mAh battery.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 may also follow the footsteps of the first few smartphones like the iPhone 7 that have an improved dual lens camera. It is likely that the Mi Note 2 phablet will boast a dual camera for better image and video captures. To note, Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus also features a dual lens camera, with its two main shooters centered with one on top of the other. The dual camera lens of the Mi Note 2 is expected to be at the corner, similar to the iPhone 7 Plus's design.
