Xiaomi Mi Note 2 release date, specs rumors: 5.7-inch display, iris scanner, Snapdragon 821 processor
Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is all set to release its latest flagship device, the Mi Note 2. The long rumored device will debut on Oct. 25 and though its specs and details are still kept under wraps, leaks have gone ahead to give fans a sneak peek of what's to come.
According to reports, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will be coming with a curved screen on both sides. Apparently, Xiaomi is all about presenting to the public a premium-looking device that will be worth a match against other high-end smartphones.
As for the specs and features, reports said that the Mi Note 2 will be sporting a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED screen. Its purported resolution is 2,560 x 1,440 pixels and will come with force touch.
Rumors also said that the new handset will be coming with at least 4 GB of RAM paired with 64 GB of internal storage. Another variant may also be introduced and it will come with 6 GB of RAM with 128 GB of storage space.
Its camera feature is also quite impressive. Reports said that it will be featuring a dual-camera setup at the rear with two image sensors inside it. One will be a 23-megapixel Sony-made IMX 318 while the other one will be a 12-megapixel Sony-made IMX 378. It's actually the same feature found in the Xiaomi Mi 5S and Google Pixel. At the front is an 8-megapixel selfie snapper.
Moreover, reports said that the device will be packed under the hood with a Snapdragon 821 processor. It's also said to carry an iris scanner. Aside from that, it's said that there will be an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
With regards to the price, reports said that the device will have a starting price of $415. The other variant may cost $445. But nothing is confirmed yet until the launch so it's best to take reports with a grain of salt.
