Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 release date, specs news 2016: Aug. 25 launch possible
Reports are circulating across the internet suggesting that Chinese tech manufacturer Xiaomi will release a new smartphone this year called Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. According to reports, the new device will be announced during its company event on Aug. 25.
As of the moment, Xiaomi has yet to confirm these reports; however, the regulatory agency in China, TENAA, is said to have already approved two different devices from Xiaomi. According to a report by Times Now UK, the two handsets were spotted with model number 2016060 and 2016050. There are heavy speculations circulating that the two models numbers belong to Redmi 4 and Redmi Note 4. There is a big chance that both of the devices or at least one of them will get announced during the company event.
There are also rumors suggesting that the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 will be sporting a full metallic design. Interesting reports have also emerged online after a leaked photo of the smartphone revealed concrete details including its specs and features.
Rumor has it that Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 will come out with a 5.5-inch screen packed with amazing display technology. It will run on a MediaTek Helio X20 chipset with a deca-core processor. The device will also be powered by a 4100 mAh battery.
The new smartphone will arrive in two variants—the 2 GB of RAM with 16 GB internal storage capacity version, while the other one carries 3 GB of RAM along with 64 GB internal storage. Both versions will arrive with preinstalled Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, which will be paired with Xiaomi's very own MIUI software.
Meanwhile, according to a report by Bloomberg, Xiaomi might finally release a device in the United States. Hugo Barra, the company's VP, said that a device will be announced in the US in October. According to the speculations, it might be the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.
