Xperia Z3 vs Galaxy A7 Comparison: Specs, Price and Features Review - Sony Overwhelms Samsung Rival
While the Sony Xperia Z3 is an older device compared to the Samsung Galaxy A7, it has classy features and great design, enabling it to overwhelm its competitor.
In terms of design, the recently launched Galaxy A7 has a slim 6.3mm full metal body that is even thinner than the iPhone 6. As for its edges they are not as rounded as other devices, but it is very light, weighing at just 141grams. The Xperia Z3, on the other hand, has a rounded 7.3-mm thick aluminum frame with matte finish on its metal edges and nylon on its corners.
As for their displays, the Xperia Z3 has a slightly smaller IPS LCD screen with Triluminos display measuring 5.2 inches. It has a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and density of 424 pixels per inch. The Galaxy A7, on the other hand, has a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 401 pixels per inch.
Regarding their specs, the Galaxy A7 comes in two versions. Its dual SIM version has a Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 chipset, and a Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 and Quad-core 1.0 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU. Its single SIM version has a Exynos 5 Octa 5430 chipset and Quad-core 1.8 Cortex-A15 GHz and Quad-core 1.3 Cortex-A7 GHz CPU. As for the Xperia Z3, it has a Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801chipset and a Quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU. In terms of RAM the Xperia Z3 has 3 GB while the Galaxy A7 has 2 GB.
Both devices have microSD slots. The Xperia Z3 allows addition of up to 128 GB of external storage while the Galaxy A7 only supports up to 64 GB.
Comparing their cameras, the Galaxy A7 has a 13 megapixel version while the Xperia Z3 has a much better 20.7 megapixel version.
Finally in terms of price, the Galaxy A7 will be priced at around $420 without a contract, while the Xperia Z3 is priced at $630 without a contract.
