Xperia Z3 vs Galaxy Note Edge Comparison: Specs and Features Review - Sony Device Has Premium Design, Great Specs
The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge stands out in terms of its flexible screen that flows over its right edge, but the Sony Xperia Z3 isn't far behind as it has premium design elements and great specs.
If the Note Edge didn't have a fully independent curved screen on its right side, the Xperia Z3 might have won in terms of design as it has a unibody metal chassis that is well complemented by a full glass front. Compared to this, the Note Edge has a mostly plastic build with a metal band around its rim. But the Note Edge has a big advantage with its S Pen stylus which allows for added functionality.
In terms of display, the Xperia Z3 has a smaller 5.2-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a pixel density of 424 pixels per inch. Compared to this, the Note Edge has a superior 5.6-inch super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels and a pixel density of 524 pixels per inch.
As for features, the Note Edge comes with fingerprint sensor which the Xperia Z3 does not have.
Comparing their platforms, the Xperia Z3 comes with a Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801chipset, a quad-core Krait 400 CPU clocked at 2.5 GHz and an Adreno 330 GPU. The Note Edge has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, a quad- Krait 450 CPU clocked at core 2.7 GHz and an Adreno 420 GPU. However, they are similar in term of RAM as both have 3GB versions. Also they both have microSD slots which can be used to add external memory of up to 128 GB.
Coming to their cameras, the Xperia Z3 actually has a better 20 megapixel version at its rear while the Note Edge has a 16 megapixel version.
Price is where the Note Edge becomes a problem as it is pretty expensive, costing around $945 without a contract. The Xperia Z3 can be purchased for about $584 on Amazon.
