Xperia Z4 Release Date, Specs News: Sony Delay Launch at Mobile World Congress?
Until the early part of this month, all indications were that Sony planned to unveil its latest flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z4, during the Mobile World Congress 2015 next month in Barcelona, Spain.
However, new rumors are circulating that the launch has been postponed. With less than two weeks before the start of the Congress, Sony has been silent about the launch and has not issued any press invitations. Many sources are saying that the launch of the Xperia Z4 has been pushed to a later date.
Other rumors indicate that Sony is planning to launch the Xperia Z4 Compact, the Xperia Z4 and the Xperia Z4 Ultra with the Snapdragon 810 processor.
TechRadar said one reason for the delay could be that Sony is planning to use the Snapdragon 810 processor in the Xperia Z4 and had to delay the launch because of it. If this is true, then Sony may have its hands full dealing with the rumored overheating of the processor or a shortage that may have arisen. If it is indeed a shortage, then Sony may be able to release the Xperia Z4 smartphone in May or September.
As for the design of the Xperia Z4, leaks and rumors point towards the current sizes of the Xperia Z3 and Z3 compact being carried over. However, there could be a Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra device with a gigantic 6.44-inch display.
When it comes to specs, the Xperia Z4, in addition to having the Snapdragon 810 processor, will have 3GB RAM and a 5.2-inch Triluminos display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. As for its camera, it will have a 20.7MP version along with a 3,400mAh battery.
TechRadar said that if Sony does decide at the last minute to bring out the Xperia Z4 in March during the Mobile World Congress, it could use the Snapdragon 805 processor in the device and dump the Snapdragon 810.
