Speculations are flying around that the Sony Xperia Z4 smartphone will be one of the new devices that will be announced in the Mobile World Congress that will be held on the first week of March 2015 in Barcelona, Spain.

In terms of specs, the latest Xperia phone is expected to have a 5.2-inch QuadHD screen, 3 GB of RAM and possibly a 64-bit processor to take full advantage of its Android 5.0 Lollipop. It would have a 20.7 megapixel main camera and a secondary 5 megapixel camera.

There have also been talks that Sony may be winding down its loss-making division to make way for the profitable ones. There are indications that Sony will leave the smartphone market in 2015. According to Reuters, CEO Kazuo Hirai said, "[Sony] would no longer pursue sales growth in areas such as smartphones."

Although the Z4 may be released as sort of a last hurrah for Sony, there is no final indication yet on how Sony would leave the smartphone market.

What is more certain is that Sony will release the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet, which will have a 2K screen with an "ultra fast processor" and "industry leading battery performance." Speculations as to the size of the screen reveal that the Z4 tablet will have a 10-inch display, which will be released earlier, with the 8-inch version to be released later in September 2015.

When the email accounts of Sony Pictures were hacked, some emails between CEO Michael Lynton and Executive Vice President of Consumer Marketing George Leon allegedly contained rumors about the Xperia Z4 having a product placement in the upcoming James Bond film "Spectre" starring Daniel Craig and directed by Sam Mendes. The leak further claimed that Craig and Mendes will have inputs on the design. Some of the other emails alleged a release in May and November, and not March.

As we count down the days to M.W.C., Sony Xperia Z4 followers await the final fate of the product.
