'12 Monkeys' season 2 spoilers, plot news: Cole stuck in 2016 after dealing with the virus, Amanda Schull speaks on her character's relationship with Cole

Syfy's "12 Monkeys" season 2 premiered last week, and it picked up on a big cliffhanger as Cassie pointed a gun at Cole last season. The two seemed to be in good terms last season and even more than the friendly way but this season might be different.

Actress Amanda Schull talked to TVLine recently where she discussed about the show and her role as Cassie. How will her relationship with Cole play out this season? "Are you trying to make me spill secrets?" Schull laughed. "I don't know if you've ever had an experience when you meet somebody and you know you're supposed to know them, and you know that your life is forever changed because this person just walked into your world. That's something that the two of them have, and I don't think they can even begin to understand why... Also now, with who Cassie is, if she opens herself up to anything meaningful, there's a very big possibility that it'll just disappear and it'll hurt that much more. So it's just a lot safer to callous, because if she allows even a peek at her heart, it could get very damaged."

Meanwhile, Design&Trend noted some important points which fans should expect based on the synopsis and promo clip. Cole, Ramse and Jennifer witness Cassie as she gets rid of the virus, but no changes will come after that. The fate of the human race is still in danger as the plague continues to pose a threat to humanity, while Dr. Jones remains to believe that she did change the course of history. Cassie sends Ramse to 2044 where she eventually kills him. She will then be back to the 1940s with Cole in a "prestigious ball at the Emerson Hotel" where they unexpectedly see oe of the Messengers.

The official synopsis for this week's episode reads: "Cole gets stranded in 2016 after an attempt to destroy the virus changes the future; Jones and Railly deal with the consequences of the changed timeline."
