In the recently concluded PaleyFest event, series cocreator Ryan Murphy gave a few hints on what fans should anticipate for the show. With regards to the storyline, Murphy told the audience that "the deeper we go into the series – hopefully, we'll last decades and decades – you will see that there's a definite universe and all the worlds are collided, sometimes in a very bizarre, interesting way." He also added that the fifth seasons "elements of children" will be included. "If you look at horror tropes, the innocence of children, that sort of wide-eyed entryway into some world is always very dramatic and satisfying," Murphy told the crowd as reported by TVLine.

As for the casting, Gabourey Sidibe is confirmed to join the show according to a report by Bustle. The actress known for her title role in the drama film "Precious" and her character Becky in musical tv series "Empire" will be in "American Horror Story" for the fourth time. Sidibe has been in three of the five past seasons of the show. Lady Gaga will also be back in the horror series as she confirmed in her March appearance on Z100 New York's Elvis Duran and the Morning Show early last month.

During the PaleyFest panel, Murphy expressed that all the actors with him (Finn Wittrock, Cheyenne Jackson, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Angela Bassett, Denis O'Hare, Kathy Bates, and Sarah Paulson) are welcome to be in the next season, though only Lady Gaga and Angela Bassett have confirmed their appearance in season 6.

No word yet on the definitive details for the show's storyline as a whole, but fans can expect a season to take place in the past, based on previous "American Horror Story" seasons.
