The rumor mills are nonstop when it comes to the Apple iPhone 7. A new leak hints that the flagship will ditch a physical home button for a capacitive one.

The photos were dug up by Mobipicker, who warns users of the possibility of these pictures being faked. Even then, the site still believes that the iPhone 7 is going for a touch-sensitive home button.

Because of this tweak, the Touch ID is expected to run smoother and faster on the iPhone 7. Users will also tap it to perform various functions on the device.

Trading the physical home button for the touch-sensitive home button in the iPhone 7 was done reportedly to make it easier to waterproof and to avoid the case of a worn-out physical home button.

Apple is also allegedly putting its "bulk amorphous alloy pressure center" patent to work. This technology basically eliminates a physical home button altogether.

There are also reports that the iPhone 7 Plus is not getting the dual-camera setup that previous rumors claimed it would because Apple wasn't able to implement it flawlessly on the device.

However, analysts from Morgan Stanley and Credit Lyonnais Securities Asia said that this isn't the case.

"Our analysts spoke to Alps and LG Innotek, which both denied the speculation. Such a last-minute spec change is unlikely as we believe dual cameras will be a key feature for Apple," the latter wrote via Barron's Blog.

"Moreover, suppliers have expanded capacity already and look confident to begin mass production next month," the company continued.

The iPhone 7 is expected to be unveiled this September. According to industry insider OnLeaks, the production for the flagship has officially but "slowly" commenced over at Pegatron.

The Apple supplier will be in charge of the 4.7-inch version of the device. There's no word yet on the bigger 5.5-inch model dubbed as the iPhone 7 Plus.
