A staunch collaborator of NVIDIA, ASUS confirmed the release of two versions of the GeForce GTX 1080 gaming cards. There's the Strix-GTX1080-O8G-Gaming card, which boasts of boost clock speeds of 1,898 MHz in game mode and 1,936 MHz in overclock (OC) mode based on a base clock of 1,759 MHz. Then there's the Strix-GTX1080-8G-Gaming card with a base clock of 1,607 MHz that would offer one boost clock speed of 1,733 MHz. Such speeds are sure to provide gamers outstanding gaming experience.

According to Tech Times, the gaming cards were released on May 27 but were made public to the gaming world on May 31 during the 2016 Computex, which is being held in Taipei.

Aside from the speed boost, the ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 likewise boasts of Wing-Blade fans that are appropriately shaped to maximize pressure on the heatsink. ASUS says this inclusion is meant to address the overheating issues, which is normally the problem with their high speed gaming cards. Through the heatpipes that have direct contact with the gaming processor unit (GPU), heat is pulled away from the card externally.

ASUS disclosed that the Wing-Blade fans make the GeForce GTX 1080 30 percent cooler and three times quieter than the GTX 1080 Founders Edition. Gamers also get the chance to customize their gaming style through the Aura RGB Lighting feature that provides color-shifting patterns and effects.

Other features of the ASUS GeForce GTX1080 include HDMI ports that make for remarkable and immersive virtual reality experiences, the NVIDIA ANSEL that lets gamers take in-game screenshots, the trademark NVIDIA GameWorks that offer gamers a unique interactive and cinematic experience, and the GPU Tweak II with Xsplit Gamecaster that allows gamers to stream their game play instantly.

Incidentally, both card variations have 8 GB of GDDR5X memory, a 256-bit memory interface, and outputs for DVI-D, HDMI, and DisplayPort.

The ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 Strix will officially hit the shelves on June 4.
