Cate Blanchett will be playing the villain Hela in Marvel Studios' upcoming "Thor: Ragnarok" next year, and some fans are guessing that her character will be replacing Mistress Death in the "Infinity War" storyline. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige took the time time to comment on these speculations.

In an interview with Collider, Feige said, "Anything is possible... But knowledge of the comics can be both beneficial to fans anticipating things, and also misleading. So you'll have to see."

In the comics, Thanos used the Infinity Gauntlet to destroy half the universe and impress his beloved Mistress Death. Since the personification of Death in the comics can be quite abstract in the movies, some speculated that the character of Hela will be the object of Thanos' (Josh Brolin) affection this time around. Some fans have even pointed out that Hela herself is the Asgardian goddess of death, so her inclusion would make sense in the movie.

As of now, Marvel has five movies in line before they release "Infinity War." Aside from "Doctor Strange" which comes out this month, fans would have already seen "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," "Spider-Man: Homecoming," "Thor: Ragnarok," and "Black Panther." It's possible that more information will slowly be revealed as more movies roll out.

"Infinity War" will be focusing on Thanos gathering the Infinity Stones in order to complete the Infinity Gauntlet that will make him invincible. So far, four have been revealed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — the Mind Gem (Vision's source of power), the Reality Gem (the Aether), the Power Gem (from "Guardians of the Galaxy"), and the Space Gem (the Tesseract). "Doctor Strange" will [SPOILER] reveal that the Eye of Agamotto is actually the Time Gem. Only the Soul Gem remains and it's a mystery as to which movie it will pop up in. Perhaps it will appear in "Infinity War."

"The Avengers: Infinity War" will hit theaters on May 4, 2018.
