'Beauty and the Beast' season 4 spoilers and updates: New photosof Cat and Vincent's honeymoon revealed, The CW president weighs in on the show's cancellation
The CW's drama series "The Beauty and the Beast" will air its fourth and final season very soon, and new photos of Cat and Vincent's honeymoon have surfaced online.
The much-awaited season 4 premiere will happen on June 2, and an official synopsis for the first episode titled "Monsieur et Madame Bete" has been released, which reads:
"Vincent (Jay Ryan) and Cat's (Kristin Kreuk) wedded bliss comes to a halt when they learn from J.T. (Austin Basis) that someone is trying to expose the identities of beasts. While on the hunt to find out who is behind the threat, Tess (Nina Lisandrello) is reluctant to help since they are all trying to move forward with an attempt at normal lives. Nicole Gale Anderson also stars."
Things might be looking good for Vincent and Cat, as they will have a "little peace" before the story begins rolling once more. The two did not have much time to have a break over the previous seasons, and their honeymoon will be a good time to rest before they start off in a new investigation.
In spite of the show's unfortunate cancellation, The CW's head Mark Pedowitz admitted that he was a fan of the series. "I truly like it as a summer series," Pedowitz said during a press conference. "One of our stated goals for the network was to have year-round programming. We're doing more and more of this and having 'Beauty and the Beast' gives us some scripted programming for summer. We are developing other things at this point for next summer. So I plan to keep it there."
As for the reason behind the show's cancellation, "Beauty and the Beast" has not been much of a top performer with its 0.6 rating average in the 18 to 49 demographic, with only 1.6 million viewers when it premiered in 2012.
