American drama "Beauty and the Beast" will be back this June for an all-new season, which will also be its last. This did not come as a surprise since the show has never been much of a performer in terms of ratings, but the network's decision is final.

Even The CW's president, Mark Pedowitz admits being a fan of the show, as noted by Variety. "I truly like it as a summer series," Pedowitz said during a press tour last year. 'One of our stated goals for the network was to have year-round programming. We're doing more and more of this, and having 'Beauty and the Beast' gives us some scripted programming for summer. We are developing other things at this point for next summer. So I plan to keep it there."

Austin Basis who plays the role of JT gave the latest update on the show, in an interview with Naluda last month. "I can't tell you much, but I can tell you that there will be a sense of finality to end the series," the actor said. "After Vincent & Cat tied the knot last season, all of the characters are in the honeymoon period- the calm after the storm that was Liam. It's an easier adjustment for some than for others. Along with a couple of new threats (and characters), there will be the usual action, intrigue, suspense & supernatural drama- but the romantic elements that made the show what it was in Season 1 will be more present. And as the person who played JT, I can't forget comedy. There are a few episodes I'm particularly proud of that I think will stand up to the best episodes that we've ever done. And I think the Beasties will eat it up!"

Reports say that season 4 will feature Vincent (Jay Ryan) and Catherine (Kristen Kreuk) as they finally work things out in their marriage. The couple had their own share of ups and downs when it comes to their relationship but next season might be different. In the season 4 premiere, VinCat fans will be happy to see their favorite couple as they go home after their honeymoon.

The fourth and final season of "Beauty and the Beast" returns June 2, 9 p.m. on The CW. It will span 13 episodes and the season finale airs on Aug. 25.
