Bob Odenkirk has confirmed that the next season of "Breaking Bad's" prequel series "Better Call Saul" will see the return of one of "Breaking Bad's" most memorable villains, Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito). There are rumors going around that the show will explore more of Gus' character and reveal him to be a closeted homosexual.

According to Christian Daily, the theory seemed to stem from the fourth season of "Breaking Bad" titled "Hermanos" which shows the origin of Gus Fring and his history with the Mexican Cartel. Some speculate that Gus may have had feelings for his business partner, Max (James Martinez).

In an attempt to get an audience with Don Eladio (Steven Bauer), Gus gave free samples of meth to the cartel boss' associates. In turn, Eladio was angered. He met with Gus and his partner Max and Tio Salamanca (Mark Margolis) shot Max in the head.

The episode gave background to Gus' story. His restaurant, Los Pollos Hermanos, translates to "The Chicken Brothers" and Gus and Max ran the business together. Gus emphasized that Max was his protégé and the two seem to hold each other in high esteem.

On the surface, it seems that the two are just close friends. But some have been led to think that they may be more than that. After all, Gus took out all the leaders of the cartel to avenge Max, something that Walter White (Bryan Cranston) wouldn't do for Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul).

Since the series is a prequel, there is even the possibility of an appearance from Max himself, before he and Gus ran into trouble with the cartel. Viewers may even get to see Gus before he became the cold and manipulative drug lord the audience sees in "Breaking Bad."

Fans are excited for the return of Esposito and even a cameo from Bryan Cranston as Heisenberg himself. Jimmy (Bob Odenkirk) could even run into him while he goes through the carwash that Walt used to work at.

"Better Call Saul" season 3 arrives in 2017.
