Billy Graham: Satan exists - Terrorism and racism are proof

Evangelist Billy Graham said that the mere existence of terrorism or racism in this world is already enough proof that Satan exists.

The world-renowned preacher shed light on Satan's nature and existence once more as Graham wrote on his column for The Kansas City Star on July 1.

First off, Graham said that Satan is rightly to be feared because "he is far greater" than any human being. This alone already rules out any doubts as to the preacher's belief in Satan's existence.

Graham wielded his first evidence as he recounted the Biblical story when Jesus battled with Satan. He said Satan knew that God sent his divine son, Jesus, to save His people from sin and death.

For his second evidence, Graham used an example that uncomfortably resonates strongly in present times.

"I also know Satan is real by looking at the world around me, and even within my own heart," he wrote. "How else can we explain terrorism, or racism, or injustice, or a hundred other examples of evil and destruction and brokenness?"

He then quoted John 8:44 that revealed Satan "was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him."

Graham reminded Christians to take caution from being deceived by Satan and his temptations.

"Never underestimate Satan's power, and never underestimate his ability to deceive us and make us think he isn't to be feared," the 97-year-old preacher and founder of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) wrote on BGEA's website in May.

This ability to deceive, Graham said, is what drives most people to doubt Satan's existence and ultimately think he doesn't exist at all. Although the devil is not as mighty as God, the preacher reminded Christians that the Bible commands believers to be wary of the enemy's devices and to "put on the full armor of God."
