'Bloodline' season 3 news, spoilers, release date: John's dark secret exposed? Series' ending deemed 'very dark'?
If speculations and teasers are any indication, it looks like "Bloodline" season 3, which also happens to be the final installment of the family drama, will be darker than it has ever been.
The series will be spewing off more revelations in the third installment. Set in the Florida Keys, the drama that follows the life and secrets of the Rayburn family is expected to reveal more intriguing facets of the family members' relationships and individual stories.
Speaking to Deadline, showrunner Glenn Kessler said "Bloodline" season 3 will be very dark, although he wants to keep mum about the details for now. What he did hint is that Danny's (Emmy award-winning Ben Mendelsohn) death will bring about more deceptions in the family, which is probably where the third season's "darkness" will come from.
"It's about the family and the relationships of those family members. Danny was always going to die, like in 'Crime and Punishment' and other stories where it happens early. 'Bloodline' is about watching these relationships evolve," Kessler said.
It will be recalled that in season 1, Danny was murdered by no less than his brother John (Kyle Chandler). Danny appeared as a ghost tormenting John in the second season, which ended with a few intense cliffhangers that are expected to reveal the deepest, darkest secrets of the Rayburn family when season 3 opens in 2017. Even Chandler admitted in an interview with Zap2It that the ending of season 2 was explosive, and the upcoming third season is expected to be even more than that.
Fans will also recall that in the season 2 finale, Meg Rayburn (Linda Cardellini) was preparing to tell their mother Sally (Sissy Spacek) something. She broke down in Sally's arms and said, "There's something you need to know."
Season 3 will answer whether Meg will tell their mother the truth about Danny's death and John's hand in it or if something will happen to prevent her from spilling the beans.
"Bloodline" season 3 is expected to start streaming on Netflix sometime in 2017.
