Boruto Naruto Manga news: Release date set for May, Mitsuki's role unveiled
A new manga series will be released by the Weekly Shonen Jump this coming May 9. It will focus on Naruto's son Boruto, who will be featured all grown up.
The upcoming manga will serve as a continuation of the Naruto series, and contrary to some reports, it will still be under the supervision of the original manga creator Masashi Kishimoto. The storyline will pick up on the events following "Boruto: Naruto the Movie,"and it will be featured in the 23rd issue of Weekly Shonen Jump. Viz Media has already confirmed that it will publish the series and the one-shot simultaneously in English through the digital magazine Weekly Shonen Jump.
The character of Boruto definitely makes the upcoming series more intriguing, specially to those who have been following the original Naruto manga since its release. However, there is another character that seems interesting to the fans: Mitsuki. Being the mysterious member of the team, not much is known about his personal background. The only thing known about the character is that he is Orochimaru's son. Information about his mother or where he came from remains a mystery to everyone.
One mystery that fans would like to dig deep into is Mitsuki's actual relationship with his father, Orochimaru. As indicated in the Naruto Wikia page dedicated for Mitsuki, "Boruto asks Mitsuki who his parents are, and the latter replies he is the son of Orochimaru. Shocked, Sarada asks if Orochimaru is his mother or father, to which Mitsuki says it doesn't matter while Boruto demands to know who Orochimaru is."
With the upcoming manga series just around the corner, fans will have to wait a little more to have their questions answered. As for now, it is safe to say that Orochimaru's appearance might already be a given, since he is the father of a key character in the series.
