'Call of Duty: Black Ops 3' Eclipse DLC release date: Xbox One and PC versions get release date

"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" Eclipse DLC is ready for Xbox One and PC players. | Xbox Store

Developer Activision is ready to release the "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" Eclipse downloadable content (DLC) for Xbox One and personal computer (PC) after the expansion pack's one-month exclusive availability to the PlayStation 4.

On May 19, the Eclipse DLC will be available to Xbox One and PC for $15. It contains four maps namely Knockout, Rift, Spire and Verge, the last one being a redesigned version of the "Call of Duty: World at War" map Bonzai.

The maps take "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" players to various settings but mostly in a post-apocalyptic future. This makes the Knockout map a standout for being a traditional location rather than futuristic.

The Eclipse DLC also comes with a new chapter of the game's popular zombie mode where players find themselves on a remote island known as Zetsubou No Shima, where the Element 115 experiments turned humans, animals and plants in the place vicious killers

"Explore diverse environments from lush, tropical forest to the stark, overgrown laboratory facility using zip lines or the sewer systems to evade the zombie horde," the description for the "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" DLC read.

Eclipse is part of the $50 "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" Season Pass, which is still available for sale via Steam or the Xbox Store. Players who purchase this will also get Awakening DLC, the first of the game released in February.

It also entitles players to the final two DLCs that Activision is expected to launch in the days to come. As usual, PS4 players will get an early one-month access to these upcoming expansion packs.

As Xbox One and PC players wait for their turn to experience the "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" Eclipse DLC, they can avail of the Double XP and Double Weapon XP events being held by Activision.

Players will have to be in parties or groups to join, in order for them to maximize the newly introduced Groups feature. Read more about it here.
