'Captain America: Civil War' Release Date News: Movie Featuring 5 Avengers Led by Captain America and Iron Man Commences Filming

Filming of "Captain America: Civil War" has started with five members of the Avengers starring in the film set for release on May 6, 2016.

The Marvel movie is the sequel to "Captain America: The First Avenger" released in 2011 and last year's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."

Actually, however, the movie takes off following the events in "Avengers: Age of Ultron." After the destruction caused by Ultron, the world's collective governments passed an act designed to regulate all superhuman activity. This causes the Avengers to split in two factions – one led by Captain America and the other by Iron Man, triggering an epic battle between the former allies.

Filming has begun at Pinewood Atlanta Studios in Fayetteville, Georgia, which was also used for "Ant-Man," another Marvel film set for release this July.

"Captain America: Civil War" stars Chris Evans as Steve Rogers aka Captain America. "Civil War" will also see the return of four "Avengers" co-stars: Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man; Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye; Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow; and Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/ Scarlet Witch.

Chadwick Boseman will also make his first appearance as T'Challa/Black Panther while Daniel Brühl has confirmed he's playing Baron Helmut Zemo. Even though it's not yet official, Marvel is also expected to introduce the new Spider-Man as well.

Also starring in the movie are Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier; Frank Grillo as Hydra officer Brock Rumlow, and Anthony Mackie as the Falcon.

In an interview with MTV News, Evans was asked if "Civil War" would look like a Captain America film or another Avengers movie, considering that many existing members of the Avengers will appear, including their new ally Scarlet Witch.

In response, Evans said "Civil War" serves as a jump-off point for the next Avengers movies, the "Infinity War," Parts 1 and 2.

William Hurt has been rumored to be joining the cast although no official announcement has been made yet.

Evans told Esquire in a recent interview that he will be donning the Captain America suit at least until 2019. "You know, you plan around the Marvel responsibilities. You have to. We start [Captain America: Civil War] in a couple weeks, and then that shoots until August or something like that. August or September," he said.

"Then I've got some downtime and I can do with it as I please. I don't know if I want to take time off or go pursue another directing job or find a movie to act in or, you know, do whatever I'm creatively inclined to pursue or wait, relax, enjoy my life. And then we start the 'Infinity War,' I think, some time in the third quarter. Fall or winter of 2016. That's going to be like nine months to shoot both movies back to back," Evans said.

With the filming in full swing, "Captain America: Civil War" needs extras, and Tammy Smith Casting has announced a notice calling for extras from 22 to 85 years old from all ethnicities for filming scheduled "in early May."

The company also needs extras to portray military men, military officers/officials, African and African-American, Southeast Asian men and women, Russian men and college students and alumni types.
