'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend' season 2 air date, spoilers news: New promo hints crazier musical performances; series bags first Emmy Award
A new teaser for "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" has been released—hinting crazier musical performances up ahead when season 3 premieres next month.
Posted via the show's official Twitter account, the trailer shows scenes featuring Rebecca Bunch (Rachel Bloom) in different wacky costumes. Some of her musical numbers show her dressed as an old-timey movie usher, a cactus and a hamster. At some point in the clip, Greg (Santino Fontana) appears to be punching someone in the face which might be one of the complications brought by Rebecca's confession.
Season 1 left off with Rebecca finally back together with her teenage sweetheart, Josh Chan (Vincent Rodriguez III). After sharing an intimate moment together in a trailer truck, she confessed the truth to Josh and told him she dropped her whole life and career as a lawyer in New York and relocated to West Covina, California just to be with him.
In an interview, star and co-creator Bloom hinted what's next for her character after she told Josh the truth. "In some ways the season is everything we've wanted to do with the show because now Rebecca is more open about why she's in West Covina and what she wants out of life," she told E! News. "She's a little closer on the road to finding happiness, which may or may not include Josh Chan."
On other related news, "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" previously became a part of this year's Primetime Emmys snubs when the rookie comedy-musical did not receive any major nominations, despite having a hot social media traction and widespread acclaim. However, the series recently bagged its first two Emmys by winning the Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing For A Comedy Series Award and the Outstanding Choreography Award in the 68th Creative Arts Emmys held this weekend.
