'Daredevil' season 3 renewed or delayed rumors? Return still not official, show delayed?

Netflix hasn't renewed "Daredevil" for season 3 yet, which worries fans of the hit Marvel series. Many fear that the show might be cancelled, but reports say it does not look that way at all.

"Daredevil" season 3 appears to be a low priority for Netflix at the moment since the preparations for the "The Defenders" miniseries are well underway.

Daredevil (Charlie Cox) will be part of the show along with Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones). The foursome makes up the titular group.

Cox is likely busy with the development and production of "The Defenders," which could be the main reason "Daredevil" season 3 will be on the backburner until the miniseries is over.

However, there is still the fact that "Jessica Jones" has already been renewed for season 2, but "Daredevil" season 3 is still not official.

This gives fans reasons to be more anxious that the Man without Fear's solo exploits in the small screen may have come to an end and that they were not prepared for it.

According to reports, instead of a cancellation, "Daredevil" will simply be delayed. Media outlets say it would be a missed opportunity for Netflix not to do season 3, especially with the stellar sophomore run of the series.

Thanks to that season, Jon Bernthal scored his own "The Punisher" spinoff series. In addition, "Daredevil" has a lot more stories from the comics to give life to.

Fans are waiting for other iconic Daredevil villains to be part of the show, including Bullseye, one of the biggest and most popular villains of the blind superhero.

If Netflix will do "Daredevil" season 3, it should be confirmed soon. In the meantime, the streaming company wants fans to focus on "The Defenders," whose main antagonist has been leaked.

"Marvel is talking about setting Mephisto as the prime antagonist for the Defenders. Some may say that this villain wouldn't fit the TV shows but that's why they're incorporating Iron Fist – to set up the supernatural element," a source that spoke to ScreenGeek said.

"This would also help set up the next phase of the Netflix shows, as Moon Knight, Blade, and Ghost Rider are being considered," the insider added.
