'Dark Souls 3' DLC release date latest news: First expansion pack to be released as early as next month?

As gamers continue to tear through "Dark Souls 3," they are starting to look forward to downloadable content (DLC) to prolong their experience on the game. The wait won't be that long.

It is expected that the first "Dark Souls" DLC pack will be released this September. So far, developer From Software and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment have only announced a fall release.

However, the latest reports hint that the first "Dark Souls" expansion will actually be available this September. It is even estimated that it might be available as early as the last week of August.

If the DLC will indeed come out around that time frame, it would have only been five months after the launch of "Dark Souls 3." With the supposed launch date nearing, an announcement might be made soon.

"Dark Souls 3" is expected to get two DLC packs. This was revealed even before the game was launched earlier this year and it is all thanks to a leak at the Xbox Store.

A listing of the "Dark Souls 3" season pass (priced at $25) was spotted on the site. It stated that there will be a couple of DLC bundles there and it will add all sorts of goodies in the game.

The description for the "Dark Souls 3" DLC reads:

Challenge yourself with new maps, bosses, enemies, and additional weapon and armor sets. Prepare yourself once more and embrace the darkness.

There are no other details about the "Dark Souls 3" DLCs although that might change soon once From Software prepares for the big launch of the first expansion pack.

With regards to the second one, fans will likely see that in the flesh by next year. Understandably, no information about this is on hand at the moment although it is reported that it will wrap up the game's narrative and might be released a year after "Dark Souls 3" hit the market.

"Dark Souls 3" was released back in March to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and personal computer (PC).
