'Days of Our Lives' spoilers, update: Marlena plots a plan to stop Orpheus; Valerie returns

Marlena lays out her plan to take down Clyde, Xander and Orpheus. | NBC

"Days of Our Lives" spoilers for next week suggest that events are going to get more intense. Marlena (Deidre Hall) decided to help in the capture of the three villains and she's pitching in some plans on how to do it.

According to spoilers, Marlena will come up with a ploy to stop Orpheus (George DelHoyo), Clyde (James Read) and Xander (Paul Telfer). She has been investigating the three and collecting as much information as she can just so the three will be apprehended.

The more she delves into the situation, the more she learns about the weaknesses of the fugitives. John (Drake Hogestyn) will agree with Marlena's plan and they will tell the others as they prepare to set up the capture of the escaped convicts. They will be needing everyone who can help.

Even though Joey (James Lastovic) has already been released from the criminals' hands, Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) will still be helping out. They just want the three to stop posing threats in the town of Salem. Unless they are captured, the horror is never going to end.

One of their plans is to use Chad (Billy Flynn) and Kate (Lauren Koslow) as bait. But Chad will come up with a better plan with the help of Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) and Adrienne (Judi Evans). Chad can't risk putting Kate's life in danger so it's best that they use an alternative.

In other news, an old character is set to return to the series. As detailed in a report, cardiologist Valerie will be making a comeback in the soap. She will be called to perform a surgery on Abe (James Reynolds) after he was shot in the chest.

Valerie was played by Tina Andrews in the 1970s and then by Diane Sommerfield in 1981. The new actress who will be playing the role is Vanessa Williams. The whole plot of Valerie's return hasn't been revealed yet but it's possible that she will be rekindling an old spark.
