The Detroit Pistons are expected to continue their positive movement in the coming season, and Andre Drummond is in the center of the development.

Now entering his fifth year in the league, Drummond is steadily improving, and the Detroit Pistons faithful is hoping that he will finally break out as a superstar in the 2016-17 season.

All the signs point towards that happening, with Drummond recently earning his first All-Star nod last year as he averaged a career-high 16.2 points per game.

Along with it, Drummond also had a career high in rebounds in 14.8 per game, and he has continued playing healthy as he has only missed a total of two games in his last three seasons.

In fact, his head coach Stan Van Gundy realizes his potential and shared his thoughts on just how good he can be. Van Gundy told reporters: "Look, he's the guy – probably he and Stanley (Johnson) are the guys who can, I think, based on their age and what they've done and what they're capable of doing, who have the potential to make the biggest jumps."

According to Fan Sided, the biggest reason for Drummond's expected jump is the acquisition of Boban Marjanovic.

The former San Antonio Spurs big man, a center that is 7 feet 3 inches tall, will undoubtedly be the main stopper in the Pistons.

In 54 games, he averaged 5.5 points and 3.6 rebounds per game in very limited minutes, but there is no doubt that he is a capable center.

This has created a friendly rivalry between the two big men, and it is something that Drummond can take to be better.

While there is no doubt that the two will play on the floor together, being designated as centers will result in a battle for position, and it is evident even on the practice floor.

And though Marjanovic will likely be a back-up for the coming season, Drummond knows that there is a big guy capable of taking his spot, and that should push him to become even better than he already is.
