'Dragon Ball Super' episode 48 spoilers, plot news: Future Trunks seeks help from Goku and Vegeta to beat Black Goku

Japanese anime television series "Dragon Ball Super" is moving on to episode 48 and it's going to feature Future Trunks returning to the present time to seek help from Goku and Vegeta.

"Dragon Ball Super" episode 48 is titled "Hope Again!! Trunks Awakens in the Present!" It comes with a subtitle, translated as, "A bolt out of the blue! A mysterious person arrives in the present!!"

This particular episode will show Trunks studying with Pilaf. When he walks outside to take a break, he comes across a time machine. He checks the inside and is surprised to see who the rider is. The preview for the upcoming episode reveals that the rider of the time machine is none other than Future Trunks. He has landed in the present time for an important mission but he will need help especially since he isn't in a good shape.

Black Goku is on the loose in Future Trunks' world. He has instilled fear among the people and Future Trunks needs Goku and Vegeta's help to defeat him. However, it's not going to be as easy as it seems. GameNGuide detailed that Black Goku is a very strong being. In fact, he is more than what Goku and Vegeta can handle. Speculations suggest that Black Goku could be the cause of death of Goku and Vegeta.

So the question now is who will be able to defeat Black Goku. The answer lies in the same people though. Goku and Vegeta may still be the ones to defeat them but they will need to be in their ultimate Saiyan form.

It's not revealed yet who Black Goku really is but spoilers suggest that Beerus was the one who created the powerful villain. Black Goku could also be a combination of Goku and Makaioshin. Another theory states that Black Goku is just a saiyan from another of the 12 universes.

"Dragon Ball Super" episode 48 will air on Sunday, June 19 on Fuji TV in Japan.
