'Game of Thrones' season 7 spoilers, plot news & updates: New actress spotted at Winterfell set? New plot details teased

"Game of Thrones" season 7 is still a long ways off, around eight months at the most, but its different production sets have been very busy preparing the way for what is touted as a grand installment.

Just recently, some set pictures emerged from the set showing Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Brienne (Gwendoline Christie), and Davos (Liam Cunningham) in costume. The production is set in Northern Ireland, where sequences for Winterfell are shot. However, a head full of striking red hair caught the attention of those who perused the pictures, assuming it was a stunt double for Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark in the series.

The identity of the red head was finally discovered, with Watchers on the Wall (WotW)claiming the actress is Megan Parkinson, an alumna of the National Youth Theatre from Yorkshire. The outlet claims she couldn't have been a stunt double for Turner since she had on a costume that Sansa will not have otherwise worn.

WotW says Parkinson fits the description of a 16-year-old Northern girl who, according to the casting call, will take part in "a high-stakes scene with leading cast members." Basing on the plot of the books, she could be playing Alys Karstark whom Jon Snow marries off to a Wilding in his efforts to unite the North.

Meanwhile, another production team is hard at work in Zumaia, Spain, and according to some reports, a beachside walkway might just be the "X" that marks the spot where Daenerys Targaryen's (Emilia Clarke) fleet of ships. The season 6 finale saw the Khaleesi traveling with her dragons and Dothraki warriors aboard a fleet of ships manned by the Greyjoys enroute to Westeros.

According to WotW, regions and cities all over Spain have been used for Westeros sequences in the past seasons of "Game of Thrones," so there's a big possibility that this is where Daenerys will be launching the second Targaryen invasion of Westeros.

A Wiki page dedicated to all things "Game of Thrones" theorizes that since Spain has stood in for Essos, Dorne, and certain portions of King's Landing, there is a big possibility that the new Zumaia location will most likely be Dornish of origin. That in itself gives a preview of what fans can expect from the upcoming installment, dragons storming through Westeros.
