Here is a "Gilmore Girls" update that fans might or might not like to hear. Dean, played by Jared Padalecki in the original series, is returning for the reboot. However, Dean and Rory's happily ever after is not on the horizon.

Padalecki left the show in 2005 to start his role in "Supernatural," but he claims his departure from the show was abrupt. In his Jus in Bello 7 panel last May 21, the 33-year-old actor said he never had closure on the show, perhaps alluding to how things ended between him and Rory (Alexis Bledel).

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, he said his scene in "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" will be small but "really cool." He added that the show's creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino, worked his taping day for the scene on a day that he was off work for "Supernatural."

He didn't offer anything more, but he did insinuate that one of the scenes would see him at Doose's, the market where he used to work at, and the same place where Dean and Rory shared their first kiss. Padalecki said the particular scene "gave me closure."

Whether that closure involves Rory is a big question mark since viewers know Dean is just one of Rory's three love interests, which included Logan (Matt Czuchry) and Jess (Milo Ventimiglia). Incidentally, both will be returning to Stars Hollow for the reboot.

According to Seventeen, it can be recalled that none of the three men ended with Rory since she chose to remain single. Hence, fans are hoping that the reboot would finally see her choosing her one true love from among her three awesome choices.

There would only be four 90-minute episodes of "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life," which will premiere on Netflix later this year.

In the meantime, check out Padalecki's video below. Here, he dishes out details about his role in the "Gilmore Girls" revival. The video was from "Supernatural's" panel at the JIBCon 2016.
