Google Nexus 7 2016 release date, specs rumors: New iteration will be made by HTC?

Google Nexus 7 2016 has been a subject of numerous rumors all over the internet for the last few months. It gives so much interest especially to the people who are on the constant lookout for future smartphone releases. These people may not have to wait long as rumors of the handset being released anytime soon have surfaced online.

According to a report by Yibada, the Google Nexus 7 2016 will be launched at the company's yearly event, I/O Developer's Conference, which is expected to happen in May. Nonetheless, no official statement has been released by the company so tech freaks will need to take these pieces of information with a grain of salt.

Meanwhile, speculations have already started to circulate that the company is going to team up with a third-party manufacturer to help them out with the development of the device. Although there is still no clear information as to which company will make the hardware for Google, rumor has it that HTC will do the job this time.

According to reports, the American search engine company has tapped the Taiwan-based tech manufacturer to help them with the upcoming Google Nexus 7 2016. HTC has already teamed up with Google with the latter's Nexus 9 tablet, which was released in Nov 2015.

Previous reports have already mentioned companies such as LG and Huawei which are rumored to be Google's next partner to help them manufacture their latest project. However, none of the companies involved in the reports have confirmed the speculations.

Although Google has been mum about its plan to release a new Nexus 7 iteration, the rumored specs and features of the device have already hit several online publications. According to reports, the handheld device will come with a 5.1-inch display and will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, along with its 4 GB of RAM.

As of the moment, fans will have to wait for the I/O Developers conference as the device is rumored to be announced at the said event.
