'Grey's Anatomy' season 13 cast news & updates: Caterina Scorsone talks about Amelia, Meredith in upcoming season
"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 will have Amelia (Caterina Scorsone), Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), and Maggie (Kelly McCreary) trying to resolve their issues with one another.
In season 12, Maggie revealed to Meredith that she was starting to develop feelings for Nathan (Martin Henderson), but unbeknownst to her, Meredith had been sleeping with Nathan this whole time. In season 13, Amelia will try to hold her housemates together after the truth of this love triangle comes to light.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Scorsone shared that Amelia will be caught in the middle of her sisters' fight.
"Right now, Amelia doesn't know about either of their situations with Riggs, so that will be something really fun to explore next year – how she's going to find out about Meredith and how she's going to find out about Maggie, and how they're going to deal with it," said Scorsone.
She then went on to say that the sisters may not necessarily be at odds with one another. "Sisters before misters," she quipped, while saying that she's sure Amelia will find a way for the two to accommodate each other. She said Amelia just wants to ease anyone's pain in the family.
Amelia isn't free from drama herself, as she found herself marrying Owen (Kevin McKidd) last season. She initially wanted out of the deal, but with support from Meredith and Maggie, she eventually gave in to committing. Design & Trend speculates that Amelia will be coping with the decision to have a child with Owen this upcoming season. It's going to be a really big issue for her to handle since both of them have lost their own children when things ended with their respective partners years ago.
"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 will premiere on Sept 22 on ABC, at 8 p.m. EST.
