'Grey's Anatomy' season 13 episode 3 spoilers: Riggs wants Meredith to 'come clean' about their hookups

Things between Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Maggie (Kelly McCreary) are already on the rocks due to the Alex (Justin Chambers) issue, but they are about to get worse in the next episode of "Grey's Anatomy" season 13.

The promo for episode 3 titled "I Ain't No Miracle Worker" teases "the most awkward love triangle ever" as Maggie musters up the courage to ask Riggs (Martin Henderson) out on a date.

Things quickly get awkward at the workplace after that. The "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 episode 3 promo saw Riggs doing his best to avoid them and making sure not to be in the same room with the two ladies.

If fans will recall, Maggie was under the impression that Riggs was into her in the previous season. Unbeknownst to her, the apple of her eye and her sister are hooking up secretly.

However, this is not the only issue with the sisters. The "Grey's Anatomy" season 12 episode 3 promo also shows Maggie sternly telling Meredith that she is not okay when she asked her during a car ride with Alex.

It is unclear if Maggie is upset about Riggs as it can also be about Alex being in the same car with them as Maggie is reminded of Meredith's resolve to help her BFF even after what he did to DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti).

The previous episode already hinted tension between Maggie and Meredith when the former learned that the latter helped keep Alex's actions a secret.

She made her promise to tell her the truth from that day forward and now Riggs is asking Meredith to do the same in "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 episode 3.

It is a mystery if Meredith meant it when she promised she will not keep secrets from her sister anymore. Maggie inviting Riggs on a date definitely pressures her to keep her word.

The synopsis for the episode is as follows:

"A family argues at the hospital following a car crash at a funeral; Arizona is caught between Alex and Andrew; Ben has a new parenting role; Amelia helps Meredith and Maggie work through a problem."

"Grey's Anatomy" season 12 episode 3 will air Thursday, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
