'Grey's Anatomy' season 13B spoilers: someone's going to jail and it is not Alex

Arizona (Capshaw) and Alex (Chambers) in "Grey's Anatomy" promo still | ABC

All of "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 thus far had the universal question about Alex (Justin Chambers) going to jail thanks to his anger rampage that left Andrew (Giacomo Gianniotti) almost dead by the end of last season. With the show on midseason hiatus, fans are in limbo whether the veteran doctor will be pushing forward with his decision to take the deal that will put him away for two years. However, even before that particular plot gets a resolution, early spoilers have already confirmed that someone other than Alex will be going inside the penitentiary.

In an exclusive report by TV Guide, Arizona will be seeing herself behind bars but fortunately, it is not because of bad behavior. As it turns out, she will be needing to attend to someone already inside the jail. And by the sound of it, the situation is quite serious to the point that the table reading for the episode left the cast "super terrified."

"Arizona's been called in on a case at a maximum security prison for an inmate who can't go to a regular hospital because she's that dangerous," Jessica Capshaw who plays the returning doctor told the media outlet.

Along the way, the actress further shares that the crisis gets very dire to the point that her character needs to ask help from her colleagues including Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and Jo (Camilla Luddington).

"After the longest day of all of their lives, they all go to a maximum security prison, where they are meant to do something that seems like a pretty simple procedure," she hinted. "It's truly kind of creepy at the same time as it's super provocative and exciting."

Despite the three not getting behind bars for something they did in the traditional sense, the narrative is intriguing as it seems to be shaping up as a one big plot point for the current season. It was not disclosed, however, when the particular narrative will be rolled out but "Grey's Anatomy" is already tipped to air new episodes starting Jan. 19 on ABC.
