It is going to be a disappointing week for those who have been hoping for "Grand Theft Auto VI" to be announced at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2016.

The continued silence of game developer Rockstar Games with regard to the development and release of the sixth installment is a good indication that the title will not make it at the event, which is scheduled to start on June 14 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

According to the latest reports, "GTA VI" will not be announced at the event. Apparently, Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, have their focus on a different game. Rumor has it that the company is going to provide details about the second installment of another highly anticipated game, "Red Dead Redemption 2."

There are also speculations suggesting that the next "GTA" title will not come out until 2018. If rumors prove to be true, fans of the open world action-adventure video game may have to wait for a few more years before they get their hands on it.

Meanwhile, it was previously reported that the upcoming "GTA 6" will be set in Tokyo, Japan. However, there are also reports saying that Rockstar Games has their eyes on Las Vegas and Bogota as the perfect location of the next title.

Nonetheless, these reports have yet to be confirmed by either Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive. As of the moment, both companies are currently enjoying the success of the current "GTA Online," which has been giving them huge monetary success.

For the meantime, fans will have to wait for the company to provide concrete details with regard to the development and release date of "GTA 6." Until the company makes an official announcement, all rumors and speculations must be taken with a grain of salt.
