Netflix has nothing to offer but radio silence when it comes to "House of Cards" season 5, which has made many suspicious of what the streaming giant has planned for the series.

In the past, new seasons of the political drama dropped around January and February. Months prior, Netflix would already reveal details about it to prepare fans.

Netflix's uncharacteristic silence about "House of Cards" season 5 has fans wondering that it has something up its sleeve, one that will shock those who have been waiting for Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) and Claire's (Robin Wright) return.

Hello Giggles editorial director Gina Vaynshteyn suggested the idea that Netflix might release "House of Cards" season 5 on Inauguration Day, which is on Jan. 20.

The streaming giant likes to release new shows and seasons on a Friday too, which makes this release schedule a greater possibility. The fact that the event suits the theme of the show strengthens that likelihood.

Netflix has the affinity to reveal its offerings just days or a week before they release them. This was the case with its new supernatural hit, "The OA."

Yahoo is speculating that Netflix is deliberately keeping its lips tight on "House of Cards" season 5 so that it could surprise-drop the new season, which has been proven to be effective and not to mention, attention-grabbing.

If this is what Netflix planned, then "House of Cards" season 5 might simply just drop out of nowhere on a random day for major impact.

"House of Cards" season 5 has been rumored to be the final season of the series as it is expected to chronicle the demise of Frank Underwood.

Speculations have it that Claire will swoop in and take the presidency from her own husband and will do so by murdering him. However, there is no concrete information to corroborate that yet.
