'Jane the Virgin' season 3 release date, spoilers news: Gina Rodriguez shares adorable behind-the-scenes photo; Star Greice Santo launches initiative 'Glam with Greice'

"Jane the Virgin" season 3 is officially in production, and lead star Gina Rodriguez recently shared a new behind-the-scene photo featuring the fun time they have while filming the show.

Season 2 left off with Jane Villanueva (Rodriguez) finally saying "I do" and getting married to Michael Cordero (Brett Dier) but by some dramatic turn of events, he was shot in the chest during the ceremony. Even though Jane considers Michael as the man of her dreams, fans are still holding out hope that she will rekindle her relationship with her baby daddy Rafael Solano (Justin Baldoni) in the future.

Michael's fate won't be revealed until the season 3 premiere, but if one thing is for sure, Jane will cope with the incident by spending more time with her family. Rodriguez shot scenes with Baldoni and baby Mateo's portrayer Adam yesterday (Aug. 23), and she shared an adorable photo of them through  Instagram. Rodriguez and Baldoni were all smiles in the photo while Adam gives his on-screen father a strange look. "How baby Mateo looks at Baby Daddy. #FamilyIsBack #janethevirgin," she wrote in the caption.

On other related news, "Jane the Virgin" star Greice Santo launched her new initiative called "Glam with Greice" this week as part of her advocacy to empower domestic abuse victims. The Latina beauty aims to give domestically abused women Hollywood makeovers to inspire and empower them after what they have gone through. To make the initiative possible, Santo teamed up with Toni & Guy and arranged for 12 deserving women to have their hair and makeup done by expert stylists at the salon's branch in Santa Monica, California. Santo is now offering the program for all women across the U.S. in hopes that it will benefit more women in the country.
