'Kingdom Hearts 3' release date news 2016: Winter launch targeted; Game will be worlds different from predecessors

Fans are gearing up for the release of "Kingdom Hearts 3," but its director is quick to note that things would be much different for the highly anticipated game compared to its predecessors.

In the first two installments, the world and some characters from "Final Fantasy" were incorporated into the gameplay. This time, though, it looks like the wonderful world of Disney would figure much into the gameplay according to "Kingdom Hearts" director Tai Yasue.

As GameSpot reported, Sora, "Kingdom Heart 3's" main protagonist, would be visiting worlds inspired by different Disney films. Apparently, Yasue and the rest of the creative team behind the game decided to use Disney worlds, as these are not only famous and easily recognizable but also unique and distinct.

"We want the difference and variety, we don't' want a lot of the same thing," Yasue said.

Four Disney worlds have been confirmed for "Kingdom Hearts 3," and these include "Hercules," "Big Hero 6," "Mysterious Tower," and "Tangled." Nevertheless, Parent Herald said worlds from "Frozen," "Toy Story," "Zootopia," and "Star Wars" will be included, too.

Fans were hoping that Square Enix would reveal further details about "Kingdom Hearts 3" during the recently concluded Electronic Entertainment Expo, but that did not happen. For now, fans would have to rely on previously released information that the game will be released before the end of 2016.

Besides, Yasue said that fans couldn't conquer "Kingdom Hearts 3" unless they play "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" first. Apparently, the final chapter prologue of the said game will give players a clearer perspective of "Kingdom Hearts 3."

"I think from 'Kingdom Hearts 2.8,' as the numbering suggests, it's really necessary before you play Kingdom Hearts 3," Game n Guide quoted Yasue as saying.

Perhaps the release date of "Kingdom Hearts 3" would be around wintertime of 2016 to allow players to finish the final chapter prologue first and to build up the hype for the game further.
