Tech-savvy fans were excited about the Apple Event held last Wednesday, Sept. 7. However, fans were hoping to hear more announcements about the MacBook Pro and the MacBook Air. Recent reports suggested that fans don't have anything to worry about. The tech giant could be releasing brand new laptops by October.

A MacRumors reader recently revealed that Apple CEO Tim Cook responded to a question sent via email. The user inquired about Apple's Mac line, writing: "Are you pulling away from the Mac Line?" Cook responded to the email, stating: "I love the Mac and we are very committed to it. Stay Tuned. Tim."

The user posted screenshots of their exchange. Since then, Apple users have been hopeful that the tech giant will walk the talk and will deliver new products before the year ends.

MacRumors decided to check the authenticity of the emails. According to the news outlet, the emails were sent from Apple's corporate servers. The publications pointed out that Apple executives rarely respond to customer emails but the news outlet suggested that the email could have been sent by the public relations team.

Although Apple has yet to make any announcements about the MacBook Air, reports said that the device is currently being developed and is expected to drop this fall.

News reports suggested that the MacBook Air will have a USB Type-C port. The Air will have one USB Type-C port, two USB 3.0 ports, one Thunderbolt 2, a headphone jack and an SD Extended Capacity card slot.

Sources said that the laptop will come in two sizes, a 13-inch unit and a 15-inch unit. The 13-inch MacBook Air will reportedly cost $980 while the slightly larger unit might be priced at $1,100.

Apple has yet to announce any details about the 2016 MacBook Air. Apple junkies should treat the updates as speculations until Apple decides to confirm them.
